Evaluated Pricing Operations

The Associate [Bond Desk] Market Analyst (the analyst) in Refinitiv Evaluated Pricing Operations is responsible for fixed income and derivative evaluation support, client query analysis, case management, client communication and internal stakeholder and team collaboration. 

Refinitiv provides evaluated pricing on over 2.7 million fixed income instruments and derivatives per day which are used by asset managers, custodian banks, investment banks, and third-party vendors. The Bond Desk analyst will have direct interaction with our key customers; therefore, a high level of English (written and spoken) is required. 

Bond Desk analyst’s day to day responsibilities include investigation of evaluated pricing requests, price challenges, price confirmations, deep dives and pricing methodology questions submitted by our clients through our products. 

Extensive bond analysis, case allocation per asset class, price coverage screening for prospective clients, creation of reports for senior stakeholders, as well as retrieval of historical prices, upon request, are also part of the daily responsibilities. 

Strong passion for capital markets, customer service, attention to detail, proactiveness, sense of urgency and understanding of bond markets are key for the role. 

Responsibilities

Judgmental 

• Assess and validate market color for price confirmation
• Analyze customer requests and properly allocate them within the pricing team and other groups across the organization
• Interpret, question, and analyze the resolution provided by the pricing team to make sure the client response is accurate and in line with expectations 
• Provide and follow through on process improvement or automaton ideas 

 

 Production

• Maintain cases up to date, follow up with our evaluation team as needed
• Update customers on the status of their queries
• Research terms and conditions of newly issued bonds
• Prepare customer files for client delivery
• Meet the deadlines of the production schedule 
• Comply with our controls and procedures 
• Appropriate coverage of client email and Eikon chatroom
• Teamwork and collaboration are essential for the role

 

Customer Service

• Handle pre-sales requests relating to the pricing of sovereign, corporate, asset-backed, and Municipal fixed income securities
• Query case management of individual client price challenges and coverage requests
• Customer service research projects and reports
• Manage internal and external client expectations 
• Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and senior management 

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or in the final stage of a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or business administration
• Excellent communication, writing, and training skills
• Customer service skills
• Programming (VBA, Python, SQL, etc.) skills preferred but not required
• The ability to work with large amounts of data in spreadsheets
• Fluent in English
• Passion for capital markets and desire for learning 

Desired Skills

• Knowledge of financial markets and fixed income 
• Familiarity with case management software (Salesforce)
• Proficient in Excel 
• Ability to handle more than one task at a time
