About the JobÂ
Â
Joby is growing rapidly and we’re looking for an experienced, hands-on Sr. Manager, Accounting Shared Services Center to join our expanding Joby’s Finance and Accounting Shared Services Center team at Avionyx.
You will report to the Director of QA and Administration, working directly with Joby Corporate HQ team, and have high visibility with our Executive Management team. In this role, you will be responsible for operations of Joby’s Accounting Shared Services Center, including but not limited to General Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Accounting Data Managements and Reporting.
To be successful in this role, you would need hands-on experience in building and leading first-class accounting services organization. The ideal candidate will have good understanding of Record to Report, Procure to Pay, and Quote to Cash processes, strong managements skills, and be an effective communicator who balances getting the details right while moving quickly in a results-driven environment.

What You Will Get to Do

Organization & Management:
- Recruit, develop, and lead career planning of the managers and staff under position’s responsibility.
- Support Joby’s stakeholders in all aspects related to corporate governance and policies.
- Drive process improvements and automation; implement standard processes and systems, in close collaboration and alignment with Joby Corporate HQ.
- Oversee the operations of the Accounting Shared Service department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives.
Operations, Reporting & Compliance
- Lead the ongoing operation for Costa Rica Accounting Shared Services Center in accordance with established global processes and operational standards, and established service level agreements (SLA).
- Implement Corporate procedures and enforce adherence. Work with team to assess efficiencies and develop strategies with the executive leaders to improve operations.
- Ensure support for internal and external auditors while implementing adequate internal controls.
- Partner with the global and regional functional teams to build out and extend the scope of Financial shared services performed from the Costa Rica center.

What You Will Bring to the TableÂ
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field (or equivalent) and a minimum of 8 years of experience. Experience working in and across multiple countries and Shared Services environment.
- Substantial working accounting knowledge including experience in general accounting, accounts payable and receivable, intercompany accounting, fixed assets, and cash accounting.
- Working knowledge of US GAAP
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with experience in process and quality analysis
- Strong written and oral communication skills; comfortable presenting to an Executive Level audience in both English and Spanish
- Embracing change while maintaining focus, energy, and drive
- U.S. Visa (due to specific trainings and meetings)
Desired
- Certified/Chartered Accountant designation preferred.
- Prior experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations ERP desired.
- Ability to manage a large team including both direct and indirect reports.
- Effective prioritization, follow-up skills and the ability to escalate issues when necessary.
- Strong influencing and leadership skills with the ability to challenge decisions & facilitate change.
