Sr. Automation Tech Manager 

This is a leadership role within the Technology Services group that has responsibility to oversee between 4-10 engineers and contractors’ performance and effectiveness. Incumbent must be able to work independently, take full ownership and change culture. Manage and direct engineers in a multi-site organization. Must be able to manage several projects within a timely manner, while supporting inflight projects and any new issues in the environment.
Manager must be a hands-on technical individual that will also manage associates and is responsible for hiring, termination, and performance management. Responsible for a team assigned to a specific initiative, application, operation, or portion of a project. Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and tools for obtaining solutions. May have limited budget responsibility and directs the activities of others. Typically has 10 to 15 years’ experience in IT or equivalent.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Lead and support a team of 4-10 Employees/Contractors • Manage the performance of associates including but not limited to service level adherence, quality assurance, incident quality and point of call resolution. • Motivating, coaching, and developing associates to achieve optimal performance results. • Performance Management • Responsible for approving timekeeping, and ensuring all administrative functions are completed by due dates. • Address Human Resource Issues • Service Level Management • Outage Management • Manager Escalations

Impact You’ll Make:

Required Skills: • BS or MS in Computer Science preferred, equivalent work experience will be considered • Proficiency with scripting languages (Python, Ansible, Power Automate) • At least 8 years of hands-on experience in designing and implementing process management solutions using automation systems like MuleSoft. • Atlassian ecosystem administration and implementation experience (10+ years) • 10+ years of experience in systems integrations around Atlassian, including Jira Software, Confluence, Jira Service Management, Bitbucket etc. • Full SDLC experience leveraging Agile, TDD and BDD for building and rolling out highly transactional and highly available platforms hosted on premise and on the cloud • 10+ years of demonstrated knowledge in cloud computing, enterprise and open source technologies • 10+ years’ experience in an operations or application development environment implementing systems integrations using API based technologies and/or automating technologies like Power Automate, Python, etc. • Software Configuration Management (SCM) experience with Ansible that includes the development of environment agnostic playbooks from development through production within a Continuous Delivery model • Automation through coding ( Python, JavaScript or any other scripting languages) • 5+ years of experience in change control and Incident management. (Jira Service Management is a plus) Desired Skills: • Must be flexible and adapt quickly to change • Strong technical acumen • Proven ability to coach and motivate others • Ability to work in fast paced environment • Ability to assess and prioritize work • Work in a Team environment • Identify and implement process improvement • Proficiency in RPA technology (Work fusion expertise preferred) • At least 5 years of experience in implementing solution based upon process management technologies (e.g. AA, Win Automate, UiPath, Blue Prism).

This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
